Description

Lychee syrup for bubble tea in a 150g sachet, one round of drinks. Dilute 1 part syrup with 5 parts tea or water: a sachet is about 3 drinks at 50g of syrup each. Shake before opening.

Lychee is floral. It tastes like the tinned fruit, perfumed and a little rose-like, with a soft sweetness. Jasmine tea is the classic base: this is the syrup for a lychee jasmine green tea, and a light green tea works too. It also works in a lychee and raspberry tea, or over ice with soda as a mocktail.

Start with the sachet if you have not made a lychee tea at home before. The 1.2kg bottle holds eight sachets and makes about 24 drinks; the 2.5kg bottle makes about 50 and suits a counter that sells lychee tea every day.

How to use

Shake the sachet, then pour 50g of syrup into 250ml of tea, milk or water and stir. Serve over ice or warm it through. One 150g sachet is about three drinks.
