Description
A tapioca pearl strainer for lifting cooked pearls straight out of the pan. The basket is fine stainless steel mesh, 6.5cm across, close enough to hold the small instant pearls as well as traditional ones, so nothing goes down the sink.
It is 27.5cm end to end, which keeps your hand well clear of boiling water, and the whole thing weighs 29g so it never feels like a chore to use. The looped handle is plastic-dipped and stays cool to hold, with a hole at the end so it hangs on a rail between drinks rather than rolling around a worktop.
Traditional pearls boil for 25 to 30 minutes, then rest off the heat for 15. Scoop them out, rinse under cold water to stop them cooking and stop them sticking, then hold them in sugar syrup until you build the drink. Instant pearls need under five minutes and the same mesh catches those too.
Stainless steel, so it will not rust or bend in a hot pan.
