Lychee popping boba in a 1.6kg tub, the size a café serving lychee every day works from. Around 35 servings at 40 to 50g, and there is no cooking or soaking: open, scoop, serve.
The pearl holds lychee syrup and lychee flavouring, sweet and perfumed the way lychee is, and it is the flavour for a jasmine tea or a green tea. It is also the boba we match with pineapple syrup in the cocktail slush kit. The syrup is sweetened with sugars and sucralose, and a clouding agent made with coconut oil gives the pearls a soft, hazy look, which is why coconut is declared.
Lychee comes in all four sizes. The 100g pot is the way to try it, the 600g tub suits a household that drinks it weekly, and this 1.6kg tub is the café size. If you get through more than that, the 3.4kg tub gives around 70 servings and is our best-selling flavour at that size.
Brew a jasmine tea, add lychee syrup and finish with the pearls, or set it against tapioca pearls in a milk tea.
