Description

The milk bubble tea kit makes 12 milk teas, and the only thing you add is the milk, dairy or plant. The box holds milk tea flavour powders and syrups, 200g of tapioca pearls, three pots of popping boba, tea bags, reusable cups and bamboo straws.

Milk tea powder mixes at 1 part powder to 12 parts hot water or milk; the syrups go in at 1 part to 5. Chewy pearls are the classic topping for a milk tea, boiled for 25 to 30 minutes and rested, and the popping boba come straight from the pot. The powders contain no milk ingredients, so the drink stays vegan when you use a plant milk. Each sachet in the box carries its flavour on the label.

Which kit. The Traditional kit is the tea-first version of this box and names its tea bags, oolong or jasmine; the Coffee Shop kit is the iced coffee version; the Fruity and Summer Fruits kits make fruit teas over ice with no milk needed. As a gift, the cups and straws mean the first drink can be made the day it arrives.

How to use

Mix 1 part powder with 12 parts hot water or milk and stir until smooth, or brew a tea bag in 150 to 200ml of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes and add syrup at 1 part to 5 parts tea with a splash of milk. Boil the pearls for 25 to 30 minutes, rest 15 off the heat, rinse cold, soak in sugar syrup and use within 4 hours. Pour over ice and pearls, top with popping boba.

The syrup, powder and popping boba flavours vary with what is packed, so read the label on every sachet and pot. Tapioca pearls and tea bags: none of the 14 declared allergens. Popping boba supplier lines by flavour: Mango popping boba: Contains Mango. Lychee popping boba: Contains Coconut (present in Clouding Agent). May also contain traces of Mango and Kiwi (produced on shared equipment). Passion fruit popping boba: May contain traces of Mango, Kiwi and Coconut (produced on shared equipment). Blueberry, cherry, green apple and peach popping boba: May contain traces of Mango and Coconut (produced on shared equipment). Brown Sugar, Caramel and Coffee popping boba: May contain traces of Mango, Milk, and Coconut (produced on shared equipment). Strawberry popping boba: none of the 14 declared allergens. Storage

Store all kit components in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Check individual packaging for best-before dates. Refrigerate popping boba after opening and consume within 5 days. Cook tapioca pearls fresh and serve within 4 hours.
